As the Super Bowl 2025 kicked off yesterday, fans were quick to notice an absence in Taylor Swift‘s party posse. The notable absence was controversial power couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds who would usually be by her side to watch Travis Kelce play, like in 2024.
This year, the Eagles are playing against the Chiefs, the latter being Kelce’s team.
But as Taylor and her pals filed into the stadium, fans were quick to realise that much like last year, Ice Spice was in attendance, but the It Ends With Us actress and her Deadpool star husband were noticeably absent.

At the time, insiders told the Daily Mail that Lively was “frozen out” of Swift’s Super Bowl plans after the Justin Baldoni controversy in which Taylor was referenced in the multitude of texts that leaked to the public.
With that said, the source insisted that Lively probs wouldn’t have gone anyway, given how chaotic things are for her right now, adding that she wouldn’t want the legal battle to “overshadow” Swift and her boyfriend’s “big night.”
“Taylor is not shading Blake [nor] is she trying to teach her a lesson. It isn’t like that. Even if Taylor did invite Blake, Blake would not come,” a source shared.
“She would never want to make Taylor’s big night – where she is going to see the love of her life play in another Super Bowl – about her. Blake would not want to overshadow Taylor ever,” they added.
Another source has now told Page Six Blake Lively did not attend the 2025 Super Bowl with Taylor Swift as the pop star felt “used” by her longtime friend. Ouch.
It comes after another insider told TMZ the singer felt “used” by Lively in her legal feud with Baldoni.
The disgruntled director alleged in his $400 million lawsuit that Lively compared herself to Game Of Thrones character Khaleesi (played by Emilia Clarke). In one text exchange, she referred to Swift as a “dragon” that she has control over.
Baldoni penned in his lawsuit that he felt like Lively was using her famous comrades — namely Reynolds and Swift — to make him feel like he “needed to comply with Blake’s direction” on edits she made to the It Ends With Us script.
As the word got out, an insider shared that Taylor is “taking a step back” from Blake as the drama ensues.
“For the time being she is taking a step back from Blake because she doesn’t want to get tangled in this more than she already has – which is far more than she ever needed to be,” an insider told Daily Mail.
It’s giving “I’d like to be excluded from this narrative” and honestly, fair.
