Nottingham Forest are reportedly 'creeping closer' to a move for Blackpool winger Josh Bowler as the Reds face a race against time to secure a deal before the deadline.
The Reds are moving fast ahead of the window closing at 11pm having already agreed a fee with Stoke of around £2m for Sam Surridge while a deal for defender Jonathan Panzo is on the cards.
And the Reds are hoping to add a winger before the close of play with a move for winger Bowler on the agenda.
According to Blackpool writer Matt Scrafton, of the Blackpool Gazette, a move could still be happening.
"It’s not the update I want to bring you, but I’m hearing Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Josh Bowler might not be over after all.
"Sources have told me Forest are creeping ever closer to Blackpool’s asking price."
Blackpool fans have been quick to respond on social media and here's what they had to say on Twitter.
Bram the Blackpool fan: "This just cannot happen. I’m sorry but it makes zero sense. Not a selling club? We kept Sinclair, Ince, Adam for longer. Just saying… I love what’s happening at my club but this situation is mind-boggling."
Martin Parker: "He’s practically irreplaceable at the moment, surely we can’t sell."
Lick Renton: "No one in and bowler out. Think I'd cry."
Deano: "I’d be really disappointed if we did let Bowler go.. He’s such a big player for us and don’t see any of the current squad giving us anywhere near the same outlet like he does!"
This Guy: "Wouldn’t wanna sell him. Got no replacement and knowing us it’ll go on a winger from league 1. I seem negative don’t I but it’s only because we can’t afford to get rid of players who have championship quality and experience as they’re gonna be the difference between us finishing."
