A waitress is being praised online after she bravely confronted a group of teen boys accused of leaving a “racist” note on their receipt.
Amira Donahue, who has worked at the restaurant for nine months, claims she was left feeling “outright disrespected” after noticing the group had just written 'black' in the tip section of the receipt.
In a clip, which has racked up 6.2 million views and over 707,000 likes, the 19-year-old asks the group for the clarification on the message.
“I was in disbelief and looked over the check multiple times to make sure I was seeing it right,” the college student said. "I felt outright disrespected and angry.
“They acted like usual 15-17-year-old boys, being a little rowdy, pouring parmesan all over each other’s plates and putting salt in each other’s waters.
“I would’ve never guessed they would leave me that note.”
The receipt for $33.79 shows a gratuity box, where the boys allegedly wrote ‘black’.
As Amira cleared their table, she spotted them hanging outside the restaurant and without a second thought, she ran to confront them.
In the video, she begins with saying: “Hey guys, I just want a bit of clarification, what does this mean?”
A group of boys are shown, as one of them answers: “I don’t know.”
Amira then proceeds to ask them again what they meant by writing it under the gratitude section on the check, with one of them replying: “I’m talking about me.”
She follows up by saying: “So you’re black therefore you don’t have to tip?”
The boy tries to tip her, but Amira continues to question their motive behind the message.
As the clip ends, she is seen walking away and heard laughing.
Users have flocked to the comments to share their reactions, with many noticing the “guilt” in their voices.

She goes over the events, before revealing the check with the word “black” written next to the gratuity section.
Amira added: “I’ve never experienced anything like this.
“I’m used to teens leaving low tips and I’ve been left with 50 cents before, but never anything this outrageous.
“I haven’t seen them back in the area.”
