Black stripe alert! Kicker Austin Snyder has lost his black stripe and has become an official member of the Brotherhood.
Snyder is a local kid from nearby Groveport, Ohio, where he was a multi-sport athlete for Groveport High School. He began his college career at Divison II Findley, where he appeared in 29 games for the Oilers, kicking and punting. He transferred to Ohio State in May of 2023.
Few fans probably knew who the Buckeye’s backup kicker was before last week’s game against Marshall. After starting kicker Jayden Fielding put three straight kickoffs out of bounds, he was replaced by Snyder who sailed two kickoffs into the endzone for touchbacks and converted all his PAT attempts.

It was said that Fielding may have injured his kicking leg, which led to the out-of-bounds kickoffs. If Fielding is unable to go, Snyder may be called upon once again to fulfill kicking duties for the Buckeyes at Michigan State.
