You may remember not too long ago that Columbus native Joey Velazquez transferred home from Michigan to Ohio State. Velazquez is now an official member of the Brotherhood after losing his black stripe earlier this week.
Velazquez attended St. Francis DeSales High School and was a two-sport star playing both baseball and football. He originally committed to play baseball for the Buckeyes, but opted to head to Michigan when he was offered the opportunity to play both sports he loved.
Velazquez will only play football in Scarlet and Gray in his final year of eligibility. He’ll line up on the defensive side of the ball with the linebackers.
