The highly anticipated Marvel superhero film 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' has received glowing reviews from fans who caught the early screenings on Friday.
The film, which was released worldwide in theatres on November 11, scored a 94% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes and going by the Twitter reactions, fans too are raving about the movie.
Several Twitter users have gone on to call the superhero flick 'the best film of Marvel Phase 4'. Fans even admitted to 'sobbing' in the theatre mid-way through the film.
"Can we please talk about how after that mid-credits scene we essentially still have a T'Challa?? And it in the most beautiful way?? Like that was perfect, my entire theatre sobbed, I SOBBED," read a tweet.
Another said, "Marvel has felt so hollow for years. This was incredibly fulfilling and I really don’t have as much adoration for the first movie like others do."
Another tweeted, "Powerful, emotional and everything the end of the phase needed."
Director Ryan Coogler scrapped his original script for the Disney project after the film’s lead Chadwick Boseman passed away in 2020 due to colon cancer. Instead of T’Challa grieving lost time after “the blip,” the driving force of the movie became centred on Wakanda mourning their leader.
Coogler said Boseman’s family signed off on his character’s 'respectful' death in 'Wakanda Forever'. In the new film, the Wakandans are put in a peculiar spot to protect their nation without T’Challa against a new nemesis, Namor, a sub-marine Talocan leader, played by Tenoch Huerta.
The Marvel Studios film follows Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje as they work together to protect Wakanda in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. Keeping in mind the character's death, another fan said, "The emotions you felt at Tony's funeral, similar feelings you will have heard as well. No doubt this is the best tribute Chadwick Boseman can get."
