The wait is over, Black Mirror fans - the sci-fi series is back for a sixth outing, and it sounds like we will all be left on the edge of our seats once again with Netflix branding it "the most unpredictable season yet".
The dystopian and often disturbing hit series began in 2011, featuring thought-provoking storylines on technology - from people being able to replay their memories to robotic bees that turn into a murderous swarm. Netflix surprised fans with a teaser trailer on Wednesday afternoon, confirming that it will return in June.
The new series features an all-star cast, with Schitt Creek's Annie Murphy, Catastrophe's Rob Delaney and Killing Eve's Anjana Vasan all glimpsed in the first-look trailer, as well as counting Aaron Paul, Michael Cera, Salma Hayek, John Hannah, Himesh Patel, Kate Mara and Ben Barnes among its several huge names. Creator Charlie Brooker teased: "I can't wait for people to binge their way through it all and hope they enjoy it - especially the bits they shouldn't."

Charlie also dropped a few hints as to what's in store for viewers, and it seems you should brace yourself to expect the unexpected - even more so than in previous seasons. "Partly as a challenge, and partly to keep things fresh for both me and the viewer, I began this season by deliberately upending some of my own core assumptions about what to expect," the writer and executive producer explained.
"Consequently, this time, alongside some of the more familiar Black Mirror tropes we've also got a few new elements, including some I've previously sworn blind the show would never do, to stretch the parameters of what 'a Black Mirror episode' even is. The stories are all still tonally Black Mirror through-and-through - but with some crazy swings and more variety than ever before."
The teaser trailer doesn't give much away, but it does present viewers with the spine-tingling message: "You've been wondering. You've been waiting. You've been warned."
