With Christmas fast approaching, the biggest names in gaming have kicked off their Black Friday sales with savings on consoles, accessories and games.
Whether you’re looking to splash out on that special gamer in your life or you just want to stockpile some games for the Christmas break, now’s the time to act.
But, with hundreds of games getting discounts, not to mention price cuts on hardware and controllers, where should you start?
Luckily for you, we’ve scoured the Black Friday sales to bring you the best gaming deals from Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation, Steam and Epic – the fab five as far as any self-respecting gamer is concerned.
These are the offers that should be on your radar, from big drops on PS Plus memberships and PS VR 2 headsets to markdowns on Xbox consoles.
PlayStation
Before you ask, there’s no discount on the PS5 Pro, Sony’s fresh-out-of-the-oven beast of a gaming machine.
Instead, the PS VR 2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle’s price has been slashed by almost 40 per cent. The lack of new and exclusive VR titles on the headset was a bit of a downer, but Sony has sweetened the deal by adding VR games to PS Plus Premium in recent months.
Speaking of which, there’s up to 30 per cent off the subscription service for new members if you don’t mind signing up for a year. Existing members can also save up to 30 per cent on the remainder of their membership when switching to the highest tier, PS Plus Premium.
And, if you still haven’t upgraded to a PS5, Sony is offering deals on most of its console bundles, including £65 off the regular PS5 and £64 off the PS5 Digital Edition (both of which also come in a special Fortnite edition with in-game items for the same price).
There’s also hundreds of discounted games including recently released blockbusters like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (a game of the year contender), Helldivers 2, Dragon’s Dogma 2, and Silent Hill 2.

Xbox
Xbox is offering £40 off the Xbox Series S with 512GB of storage, which makes the already affordable console an even bigger bargain.
Let’s face it, this is Microsoft’s Game Pass machine, a cheap and cheerful way to play all of Xbox’s biggest exclusives on launch day with a monthly subscription.
Nowhere else comes close to offering the sheer variety of Game Pass at the same price. But, if you do prefer to buy games (you know, in case they get pulled from the subscription service), then there’s plenty of deals on those, too. Best of all, you may not even need an Xbox to play them now that you can stream your own games with Game Pass Ultimate.

Discounts on Nintendo games and hardware are rare, despite the Switch being positively geriatric in gaming years.
Is the console still worth buying when there’s a successor expected next spring? We’d opt for the cheaper Switch Lite if you’re purchasing it for the kids, which comes with Animal Crossing and a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online membership. Though, with so many ace retro games on the latter, you may wind up hogging it yourself.
Nintendo is an institution now (like the Disney of gaming), so it’s no surprise to see discounts on merch, Lego sets, and Mario-themed accessories – all of which will make for great pressies for Nintendo adults.

Epic Games Store
Deluxe and special editions are a great way to future-proof your game purchases as they often come with access to future DLCs, plus plenty of in-game coin for all those sweet cosmetics.
If that’s what you’re after, the Epic Games Store is the place to go thanks to its massive deals on the bumper editions of Star Wars Outlaws, EA FC 25, and Alan Wake 2, among others.
