It’s the day some of us look forward to, and one that's perfect to get ahead on your Christmas shopping! Yes Black Friday’s global sales event will be here in just a few weeks - and we can't wait to bag a bargain or two.

The yearly mega sales event, which originally started in America, has since then taken the world by storm - with major brands all dropping their prices by up to 70% in some cases. How good is that?

Savvy shoppers can look forward to saving hundreds on technology, beauty, fashion, sports, homeware and so much more!

Some brands like Sky, Samsung, Argos, Dyson, Currys, Boots, Virgin Media and LookFantastic have already gone live with some early Black Friday deals - with up to 40% already being knocked off the RRP!

Bargain hunters can already bag themselves a fantastic deal on vacuum cleaners, 4K TVs, headphones, fitness equipment, fragrance, beauty gift sets, mobile phones, broadband bundles and so much more.

Last year, Black Friday took place on the 25th November - so get the date in your diary as soon as possible, as you won't want to miss out on the mega bargains you'll be able to bag!

If you’re planning on purchasing a large electrical item, new vacuum cleaner or just fancy treating yourself to a little treat? We have all the expert tips and trick, information - and that all important date of when this year's Black Friday will be taking place.

When is it?

Black Friday is expected to fall around the same time as it did last year, which should be November 25th and Cyber Monday happening on the 28th. But we think some brands might start slashing prices before, with some predicted to start around the end of October.

Who took part last year?

In 2021, retailers like John Lewis, Currys, Argos started the trend by offering discounts slightly earlier in October and the beginning of November - which lasted through until Cyber Monday. Black Friday seems to get bigger and bigger, with the day generating £9.2 billion in sales - 15% up on the previous year!

There were a few teething issues due to stock, with must have items like the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X selling out in record time! Thankfully these problems have been fixed, but if you see a new release? We suggest adding it to your basket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

PrettyLittleThing went one step ahead and cut prices up to a whopping 100% off and bargain hunters managed to get clothes worth thousands of pounds for less than £20!

Predictions

Most major retailers don’t like to share or give away whether they’ll be taking part in Black Friday… But going off years before, you can expect to see some real bargains from Amazon, ASOS, Boots, Currys, Argos, John Lewis, Very and many more.

Not forgetting incredible brands like Le Creuset, Dyson, ghd, Charlotte Tilbury, Google, Ninja, Shark, Nintendo and so many more could also be included - going off what's happened in years before.

Top tricks and tips

Had your eye on a new vacuum cleaner? Airfryer? TV to binge watch movies over Christmas? Well here are the top tips on how to get your hands on the best deals!

  1. Do research ahead of time - preparation is key and getting some background knowledge on items you intend to buy will save you time and effort ahead of the big day. Don't forget to read the reviews and expert roundups for an independent recommendation.
  2. Register your interest - Sign up to specific retailer newsletters to stay in the loop and get the latest news on what they will be offering for Black Friday. Most retailers will be regularly updating shoppers on all the exciting promotions and the latest deals on thousands of products in the lead up and during the shopping bonanza.
  3. Bookmark pages of products you want ahead of time, that way when the clock strikes midnight you won't have to waste time scrolling through thousands of products.
  4. Get online early - online demand last year was unprecedented, and we expect this year will be no different. It's worth burning the midnight oil if you really want to score huge deals.
  5. Compare prices across a number of retailers and look for free delivery options to maximise your savings. This will help ensure you get the best possible discounts on all your coveted items.
  6. Sign up to Amazon Prime - If you want exclusive access and the first to shop Amazon’s Black Friday sale, you need to become a Prime Member. By doing so, you get 30 minute access to Lightning Deals - which are hot items that are discounted for a few hours or less! Not a member? Fear not as you can sign up and enjoy a 30 trial for absolutely free! The best time to sign up to Prime? Right before Black Friday starts - or at the start of November.
