BKFC 47 heads to Florida with middleweight championship main event

BKFC is headed back to Florida and it’s bringing another title fight with it.

BKFC 47 takes place July 14 at a venue to be named in Lakeland, Fla., the promotion recently announced. The card will stream on FITE.

In the main event, middleweight champion David Mundell (6-1) looks to defend his title against former Bellator standout Mike Richman (5-1), who will drop down to the 175-pound weight class from light heavyweight (190 pounds).

Mundell, 31, accumulated a 10-5 professional MMA record prior to his transition into bareknuckle boxing during the early days of BKFC. He won the BKFC middleweight title in December when he defeated Francesco Ricchi by third-round TKO at BKFC 34. He enters BKFC 47 on a four-fight winning streak.

Richman, 37, looks to rebound from a knockout loss to Lorenzo Hunt in a light heavyweight title fight at KnuckleMania 3. During the fight, Richman dropped Hunt but was knocked unconscious moments later in a wild sequence. The loss was his first in bareknuckle boxing.

No other fights have been revealed for the card at this time.
