The BJP has drawn up elaborate plans to mark the 42nd year of its founding on April 6 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to party workers on Wednesday, a fortnight–long “Samajik Nyay Pakhwada” (Social Justice Camp) on the government’s welfare programmes and BJP president J.P. Nadda meeting envoys of various countries of Europe and India’s neighbourhood as well in a programme called “Know the BJP”.
Prime Minister Modi shared the details of some of the programmes urging the BJP MPs to dedicate themselves to 'seva' (service) as the party embarks on a "samajik nyay pakhwada" from April 7. Speaking at the BJP parliamentary meeting on Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi cited a number of welfare schemes of the government targeting different segments of society and asked MPs to reach out to people with their details.
Mr. Nadda will be meeting the envoys of France, European Union delegation head Ugo Astuto, the envoys of Portugal, Switzerland, Poland, Romania, Bangladesh, Singapore, Slovakia, Italy, Hungary, Vietnam and Norway in what is being said is an interaction about familiarisation with the BJP. Party foreign affairs cell convenor Vijay Chauthaiwale told The Hindu it was "a party initiative, to explain the party's programme, its philosophy and activities to an overseas audience and will be the first part of similar interactions in future".
Giving details later at a presser at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Rajya Sabha MP and party general secretary Arun Singh said leaders will be highlighting the impact of health insurance programme “Ayushman Bharat” and “Jan Aushadhi Kendra”, where medicines are sold at a subsidised rate, on April 7. The schemes to build houses for the poor and to bring piped water to every household will be at the centre of the campaign on April 8 and April 9 respectively, he said.
The birth anniversary of social reformer Jyotirao Phule and B.R. Ambedkar on April 9 and April 14 respectively will also be observed in a big way.
Party workers will dedicate one day each to highlight and spread awareness about the ongoing free grain scheme, reach out to the Scheduled Tribes, contact unorganised sector workers, highlight financial inclusion schemes and nutrition programmes.
"BJP president J.P. Nadda will hoist the party flag in the morning and inaugurate a blood donation camp as well. At 10 a.m., Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address BJP workers virtually, reaching out to all our 956 organisational districts, 15,732 mandals, more than 10 lakh booths. All mandals will see flag hoisting and Shobha Yatra [procession]. Naddaji will participate in the Shobha Yatra at 11 a.m. starting from Karol Bagh in New Delhi," he said. ...
