The BJP is not in need of anyone (any party) to speak on its behalf regarding alliances in any State, TMC president G.K. Vasan told journalists here on Sunday.
He said that senior BJP leaders across the country would talk about elections and alliances for the party. The BJP keeps winning elections in several States based on its strategies. There is no need for the party to have anyone else to discuss alliances for it, not only in Tamil Nadu, but in any State, he said, when asked if he was negotiating to bring an alliance between the AIADMK and the BJP.
He further said that, as the TMC president, he stood by the views of alliance partners and regularly discussed with alliance leaders on the welfare of the country and the people.
On actor Vijay’s entry into politics, he said that anyone could enter politics. But, voters are the leaders. If a party works to meet voters’ needs, it will win, he added.
The TMC’s executive meeting will be held in Chennai on February 12, and it will decide on the alliance and the election work.
