Bitcoin continued to push higher on Tuesday to peak at $91,740 — its highest level in more than a month. Spot bitcoin ETFs and other crypto stocks surged on the move.
Bitcoin traded around $91,250 Tuesday afternoon, off its high for the day but still up about 4.6% over the past 24 hours according to CoinMarketCap data. The price of bitcoin has rebounded to its highest level since March 2.
Bitcoin powered above $87,000 on Monday as the U.S. dollar index tumbled to a three-year low and gold prices jumped to record highs above $3,400 per ounce. The gain narrows the year-to-date loss for the world's largest cryptocurrency to less than 5%.
The iShares Bitcoin Trust and other spot bitcoin ETFs surged 4.8% Tuesday, adding to their roughly 3% gain on Monday. The bitcoin ETFs rebounded above their 50-day lines on Monday's move.
Meanwhile, spot bitcoin ETFs recorded $381.3 million in inflows on Monday, according to Farside Investors data. The ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF led the pack with $116.1 million in inflows, followed by the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF at $87.6 million. The iShares Bitcoin ETF ranked third on the day with $41.6 million in inflows.
Since their January 2024 launch, the spot bitcoin ETFs have generated $35.86 billion in inflows. The iShares Bitcoin ETF has seen almost $37.8 billion in inflows. However, that has been offset by $22.74 billion in outflows from the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF.
Coinbase stock jumped 8.6% Tuesday. Shares of the crypto exchange were flat during Monday trade.
Strategy stock swung 8% higher. MSTR stock ticked up slightly on Monday. Meanwhile, Michael Saylor on Monday announced that Strategy acquired 6,556 bitcoin for about $555.8 million, or about $84,785 per coin. As of April 20, Strategy holds 538,200 bitcoin with an average purchase price of $67,766 per BTC.
Among other cryptocurrencies, ethereum rose 8% over the past 24 hours to trade around $1,700. Still, ethereum is down about 49% in 2025.
Solana climbed 5.5% over the past 24 hours to trade around $144. The SOL token is still down about 26% this year.
