Crews from both Avon Fire and Rescue and South Western Ambulance Service were called out to South Bristol this morning following a crash that blocked part of the ring road. Ambulance vehicles and an air ambulance landed at the scene in the Bishopsworth area at 8am today (August 11).
The A4174 King Georges Road was blocked in both directions and traffic was slow from the A38 Bridgwater Road (Lime Kiln Roundabout) to Highridge Green as a result. Emergency services have now shared further information about the collision.
One person was taken to hospital by land ambulance. Photos from the scene issued by Bedminster Fire Station show the extent of the damage.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 08.00hrs today to a road traffic collision in the Bishopsworth area. We sent an operations officer, two double-crewed land ambulances and an air ambulance.
"We conveyed one patient to the Bristol Royal Infirmary by land ambulance." Avon Fire and Rescue Service's Bedminster fire crew tweeted: "We attended a collision in South Bristol this morning with our colleagues from Temple.
"One casualty was assisted from vehicle by the South Western Ambulance Service and the Great Western Air Ambulance team. Thanks also to Avon and Somerset Police and Packexe Ltd."
