Birds Bakery opens 25th shop in Nottinghamshire to the delight of shoppers

Customers snapped up sausage cobs and caramel doughnuts at the latest Birds Bakery shop to open in Nottinghamshire. The new store opened its doors at Teal Park, between Netherfield and Stoke Bardolph, on Wednesday (October 5) bringing the bakery's popular sweet and savoury treats to the area.

It marks the company's 25th shop in the county, and its 63rd in the East Midlands. Birds joins a number of household names on the expanding business park, situated off the A612 Colwick Loop Road, which includes the recently opened Aldi, Screwfix and Toolstation. The wider site is also home to a new school and children’s day nursery.

The new Teal Park store features the usual mix of Birds Bakery classics, including the caramel doughnut and cream puff, and a hot food counter serving grab and go, including breakfast cobs and rolls filled with the roast of the day.

Coffee is supplied by Nottingham’s own 200 Degrees. The unit also has a small amount of seating for shoppers wanting to eat in.

Mike Holling, sales and marketing director at Birds Bakery, said: “We’re excited to have opened the doors at Teal Park this morning. It’s been a very busy morning and it’s great to see so many friendly faces in the store.

"Food on the go is our big focus at Teal Park and our hot food counter has already been serving lots of sausage and bacon cobs, as well as rolls filled with the roast of the day. We’re looking forward to becoming part of the community in Netherfield.”

Teal Park is next to the vast Rivendell housing estate, near the Victoria Retail Park. The housing development has been described as a 'mini-city' by a council leader and more than 800 properties are expected to be built in total. The estate has been named Rivendell as a nod to the area's link with the Lord of the Rings.
