Bipartisan Task Force Requests Documents On Trump Assassination Attempt

Donald Trump to testify in New York civil fraud trial

The bipartisan task force investigating the first assassination attempt of former President Trump has made significant strides in gathering crucial information related to the incident. The task force has formally requested documents and interviews from the Justice Department and FBI to aid in their investigation.

The investigative body has specifically asked for transcripts from witness interviews and all documents pertaining to the July 13 attempt on Trump's life in Butler, Pennsylvania. The request includes materials from various entities such as the U.S. Secret Service, state and local law enforcement agencies, interviews with members of the Trump campaign, Trump himself, and relatives of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the alleged shooter.

In a letter addressed to FBI Director Christopher Wray and U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, the task force outlined the scope of the information they are seeking and set a deadline for the materials to be submitted by Sept. 24.

Furthermore, the task force has also expressed interest in receiving a briefing on the recent attempt on Trump's life in Florida, which occurred on a Sunday. They have requested this briefing to take place no later than Sept. 20, indicating the urgency and seriousness with which they are approaching both incidents.

These developments underscore the thorough and meticulous nature of the investigation being conducted by the bipartisan task force. By seeking a wide range of information and conducting interviews with key individuals involved, the task force aims to uncover the truth behind the assassination attempts and ensure accountability for those responsible.
