A Merseyside bingo hall has renamed itself to mark the 80th birthday of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney.
The Mecca Bingo building in Knotty Ash has been renamed "Macca Bingo" celebrate Paul's milestone birthday. The venue on East Prescot Road is just five miles down the road from the legend's childhood home on
Forthlin Road.
The name change will stay for the next week as the rock star turns 80 on Saturday, June 18, and then makes a landmark performance as the oldest-ever act to headline the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury on Saturday, June 25. The rock legend has spent six decades in the spotlight, after forming The Beatles with John Lennon and George Harrison in 1960.

The Fab Four rocketed to worldwide fame through the 1960s, meaning life for the lad from Liverpool would never be the same. Despite the very public and heavily discussed break-up of the band, Macca launched a successful solo career and continues to perform to this day.
