An bin warning has been issued following ice and snow hitting the region overnight and this morning.
Sefton Council has published an update for those living in the borough following the cold snap across the region. The council has said that those living across the North Merseyside borough could see delays in their bins being emptied.
The council published across its social media channels: "Due to the icy weather conditions, our refuse and recycling crews may be delayed today. If your bin isn’t collected we’ll be catching up throughout the week, so please keep it out. Thank you for your patience."

The warning comes as chaos has ensued across the region, with a number of crashes and road closures being reported, with Arriva also posting that it's facing delays. Its North West page posted: "We're currently experiencing some cancellations & delays due to severe weather in the region.
"Please continue to check our social media, website and app for further service updates. If you are travelling today, please take extra care and allow extra time for your journey."
Liverpool City Council was also forced to acknowledge the struggles in the city. A spokesperson said: "We're aware the morning commute has been difficult due to icy conditions.
"Gritters were out til 9pm & again this morning. Quad bikes also sprayed the city centre from 10pm. However, localised showers turning to ice caused an issue. Please take care."
