Billy Ray Cyrus, 62, and Firerose, 36, have officially ended their seven-month marriage. The divorce was granted by a Williamson County judge in Tennessee, citing irreconcilable differences and 'inappropriate marital conduct' as reasons for the split.
Cyrus' legal team confirmed that a settlement was reached between the former couple, with Cyrus expressing relief at putting the ordeal behind him. The court documents reveal that neither party will pay spousal support, and asset division is based on pre-marital ownership.
It was noted that Hodges legally changed her last name to Cyrus before mediation, leading Cyrus to believe that her motivation for marriage was to acquire his last name. Cyrus had initially sought an annulment, alleging fraud on Hodges' part.
The musicians, who tied the knot in October 2023, resided in Tennessee and collaborated on music together. As part of the settlement, Cyrus will transfer ownership, master rights, copyright interests, and royalties to Hodges for the music and intellectual property they created during their marriage.
This marks Cyrus' third divorce, having previously been married to Tish Cyrus, with whom he shares five children, including Miley Cyrus. Their divorce in 2022 led to a publicized family rift, notably highlighted when Miley omitted her father from her Grammy acceptance speech earlier this year.
