Billy Ray Cyrus has spoken out after a recording of an expletive-filled tirade alleged to be by him against his ex Firerose was leaked online.
The two musicians are currently embroiled in a bitter divorce in which they have alleged abuse on both sides following just seven months of marriage.
Both parties deny the allegations made against them in divorce proceedings.
Now, Achy Breaky Heart singer Cyrus, 62, has confirmed that it is indeed him who can be heard in the shocking audio recording.
He said he was “at my wit’s end” and blamed his 36-year-old estranged wife Firerose - real name Johanna Rose Hodges - for his behaviour.
Sharing a statement on Instagram Stories, he said: “Hell yeah I was at my wit’s end. As every day went by, I started realising something was wrong.”
He concluded his post with a message to Firerose, which read: “See you in court.”
The Standard has contacted a representative for Firerose for comment.
According to the Daily Mail who obtained the audio, Cyrus became enraged after missing a stage performance, something he evidently blamed on Firerose.
In the audio he said: “If you had just left it the f**k alone, now I’m really f**king p***ed, once again showing you will not listen.
“I don’t know who the f**k you think you are, but you will not listen…this ain’t about nothing this is about you being a selfish f**king b***h.”
He relentlessly continues: “I don’ think you’re real smart, I’ve changed my mind on that s**t. What I think you are is a selfish f**king b***h. That’s what you are.”
Firerose can then be heard asking him to please stop shouting, to which he responds: “This would not be happening if you had just shut your f**king mouth. Look what a f**king mess you’ve made.
“What a dumb ass [you are] …’cos you have to know I will not tolerate that s**t. You just f**ked up…f**k you. You know better than that. F**king idiot.”
The outlet also reports that additional audio sees Cyrus launch a scathing attack on his famous daughter, Miley, saying: “Everyone knows that devil’s a skank.”
Firerose and Cyrus married on October 10 2023.
Cyrus initially filed divorce papers in a Tennessee court on May 22, citing irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct”.
He was further seeking an annulment due to alleged fraud on Firerose’s part, saying in the filing that he would not have married Hodges “had he known” about the alleged fraud.
