Billy Horschel What's In The Bag? 2024 Update

Billy Horschel watches his tee shot with a driving iron.

Claiming his first PGA Tour title in April 2013, Billy Horschel has enjoyed a career that has spanned over a decade, with the American picking up the FedEx Cup title in 2014, as well as multiple victories on the circuit.

Previously, Horschel used PXG equipment but, after splitting with the company, the multiple-time PGA Tour winner now uses, primarily, Titleist equipment and, in this piece, we have taken a look through his full golf bag.

Driver

To begin with, Horschel has switched out his Titleist TSR3 driver for the Titleist GT3 driver, with the Fujikura Ventus TR Black 6X shaft remaining the same in the newer model.

Featuring the same moveable weight adjustability as the TSR3 driver, Horschel praised the GT range of drivers when it was released, as the American stated: "It feels more solid to me. I know where the ball is better…Even the ones I missed, the dispersion is still tight. We haven’t lost anything. It’s faster, spin rate is more consistent".

Fairway woods

Opting for the more recent GT3 in the driver department, Horschel has remained loyal to the slightly older TSi range of fairway woods, particularly the TSi2 fairway.

Sitting at 15 and 18 degrees of loft respectively, Horschel does sometimes rotate out the 18 degree in favour of a 3-iron. What we do know is that they are both fitted with Project X HZURDUS Smoke Black shafts and, currently, he has kept the model from 2020 in the bag.

Irons

Moving on to the irons, which are a combo set that ranges from a T100 in his 3-5 iron and 620 CBs from 6-9 iron. Originally, Horschel had a set of Ping Blueprints, which were in his bag for a while, but the PGA Tour winner has had this Titleist set up in the bag for sometime.

Historically, Horschel has done some strange things to achieve his preferred look in his iron set. He has always wanted stronger lofts but did not like the look of the additional offset that occurs when bending irons stronger. As such, Titleist have previously bent clubs 2˚ weak for Horschel and then subsequently ground off the sole number before stamping a new number on.

Wedges

Away from the irons and to the wedges, with Horschel carrying four Titleist Vokey SM10s with 46, 52, 56 and 60 degrees of loft respectively. In testing, the SM10 was another Titleist club that received five stars in our review, which is no surprise given how many top professionals use the model.

Put simply, we felt that it was one of the best golf wedges on the market because of the high levels of consistent spin, great feel and bags of versatility thanks to the 23 loft and bounce options that are available across the six different sole grinds.

Putter

Previously, Horschel has used a Ping PLD Anser putter in a Tour only raw finish but, prior to the 2024 Players Championship, he has returned to his trusty Ping Sigma2 Tyne 4 putter. Certainly, following the move, Horschel has found great success, as he claimed the Corales Puntacana Championship in April of that year.

Ball

Horschel uses the Titleist Pro V1 golf ball and has done for some time. One of the best golf balls money can buy, the Pro V1 received five stars in our review and it is easy to see why.

The reason is due to the fact it provides superb all-round performance with impressive distance in the long game, excellent control into the greens and high levels of consistency throughout with a soft feel. It was also particularly impressive when playing in the wind.
