Billy Donovan: Lonzo to stop running for 10 days due to knee not responding

The Chicago Bulls may be without their point guard for longer than they initially hoped.

Billy Donovan said on Monday that Lonzo Ball will stop running for the next 10 days in hopes his knee responds to some rest before attempting to ramp up his rehab again.

Donovan recently said that Ball’s knee has ‘not responded’ to the rehab and that the training staff would be working on a new plan of action to help get Lonzo back on the floor.

Ball underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee in late January to help repair a small meniscus tear in his left knee. The original timetable to return was 6-8 weeks — we are now in week 7 of that timeframe.

As note by Jamal Collier of ESPN, Donovan didn’t say if Ball would be out for the rest of the season, but there’s certainly room for concern if his knee isn’t responding to the rehab.
