It’s tough when a team drafts your replacement. Or at least the guy you think could be your replacement. This is the position Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox now finds himself in this very position. But he seems to be good with it.
Knox has been a steady and consistent performer over the course of the last two seasons as well as productive. But this didn’t stop the Bills from drafting former Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.
But Knox is taking it all in stride and had nothing but good things to say about Kincaid. Knox noted that Kincaid seems like a really good guy and a guy he would hang out with off the field as well.
A smart offensive coordinator will find a way to use Knox and Kincaid in the Buffalo offense. Kincaid was a perfect pick to help a young and talented quarterback like Josh Allen. Kincaid is a natural route runner and receiver with prototypical size and elite athleticism.
Dawson Knox on #Bills rookie TE Dalton Kincaid: “Great hands, great route running ability… he said he had 16 catches in a game in college – I think that was my whole last year (in college).” Says Kincaid is easy to get along with. @Batavia_Daily pic.twitter.com/XmEi4zPc26
