Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was impressed with the way the New England Patriots played in Sunday’s AFC East divisional matchup.
Despite entering as double-digit favorites, the Bills barely eked out a 24-21 win over the struggling Patriots at Orchard Park. It was a surprising turn of events for a game most expected to end in a blowout.
Allen went 18-of-29 passing for 154 yards, a touchdown and an interception. The Patriots failed to stop Buffalo’s ground game, but they did manage to give their MVP candidate quarterback fits.
Allen was impressed by the Patriots’ effort, as he noted in his post-game press conference.
“They played a lot of man. They came up, they got their hands on, they were undercutting some of our crossing routes. …That’s a better team than their record shows,” said Allen.
The Patriots slowed down Allen’s offensive output in one of the better defensive performances they’ve had all season. We’ll see if they can do it again when the two teams meet up in Foxborough in the Week 18 regular season finale.
