Two MVP candidates battled it out in the Divisional round as Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills took on Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
Buffalo held on to win 27-25. Josh Allen only had 127 passing yards and 20 rushing yards but he had two rushing TDs. The Bills’ defense stepped up big. Jackson threw an interception and lost a fumble. Mark Andrews had a disastrous game. He lost a fumble and dropped a two-point conversion pass that would have tied the game with 1:33 left in the fourth quarter.
Derrick Henry was held in check, especially in the first half. Henry finished with 84 rushing yards and a rushing TD.
It was not the best game the Bills played but they got the job done and are now set to face the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.
Bills Face Chiefs In AFC Championship Game
The Buffalo Bills will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. These two teams squared off in week 11 during the regular season. Buffalo was at home and defeated the Chiefs 30-21. Josh Allen had 262 passing yards, one passing TD, one interception, 55 rushing yards, and one rushing TD. James Cook only had 20 rushing yards but added two rushing TDs. Mahomes struggled in the contest, throwing two interceptions and the Bills sacked Mahomes twice.
While Allen and the Bills have had success against the Chiefs during the regular season, they have always fallen short against Mahomes in the playoffs.
This is a legacy game for Josh Allen. He needs to finally defeat Mahomes in the playoffs The defense performed well against the Chiefs during the season and will need to step up once again in the postseason.
