Bills fans received support from an unlikely source in their quest to defend quarterback Josh Allen from his critics: ESPN's Mike Greenberg. Greenberg, who is notorious for his fandom of the Jets, Buffalo's AFC East rival, put his rooting interests aside on Friday morning during an episode of the network's morning debate show Get Up.
Allen has been taking a lot of heat this year for his turnovers–he currently ranks second in the league in interceptions thrown–and the role those have played in Buffalo’s middling 6—6 campaign.
Greenberg mentioned the turnovers but, to the surprise of Bills Mafia, the ESPN analyst proceeded to state that such mistakes matter little compared to Allen’s impressive touchdown production. Buffalo fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to show their support for Greenberg’s defense of their QB.

Greeny out here fighting the good fight for our guy while everyone else wants to trash him!! Does Josh make some bone-headed plays that drive you crazy? Absolutely! But...he makes WAY more jaw dropping plays and throws that No other QB can make! There isn't one QB in this league… https://t.co/EH34f18Fcu

Allen is tied for second in the league in passing touchdowns and ranks sixth in rushing scores, evidence that suggests he is the “one-man offensive machine” that Greenberg suggests he is. But games like his Week 1 three-interception outing against Greenberg’s Jets, or the last-second losses against the Broncos and Eagles, overshadow Allen’s brilliance.
Bills fans are tired of defending their QB. They were pleasantly surprised to see one of the biggest Jets fans out there doing it for them.
