Billie Joe Armstrong spotted at tiny Glasgow gig ahead of huge Green Day Bellahouston show

Billie Joe Armstrong hit the town in Glasgow prior to Green Day's huge Bellahouston Park show tonight.

The 50-year-old frontman was spotted in the crowd last night at New York singer songwriter Jesse Malin's gig at iconic city venue, King Tut's Wah Wah Hut.

A few other Green Day members were also reported to have joined Armstrong at the show, as they let their hair down on a wee night off in Glasgow following their show at Dublin's Marlay Park on Monday evening.

One gig-goer took to Twitter last night to share their surprise at after spotting Armstrong at the show in the 300 capacity venue.

They wrote: "I went to a Jesse Malin gig at King Tut’s in Glasgow tonight and a few members of Green Day were in the audience.

"They are in the city for tomorrow’s Hellamega tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer.It was surreal to have Billie Joe Armstrong brush past me in such a tiny, but iconic, venue."

Thousands are set to flock to Bellahouston Park to see Green Day headline the Hellamega tour tonight, which will also see performances by Fall Out Boy, Weezer and Amyl & The Sniffers.
