Billie Eilish's fans have reacted to her new relationship with The Neighbourhood singer Jesse Rutherford after they went public with their romance earlier this week.
The 20-year-old singer was pictured kissing Jesse, 31, outside an Indian restaurant in Studio City after a romantic dinner date, days after they held hands at Universal Studios Hollywood.
And now the songstress' fans have plenty to say about her new relationship with Jesse, who is 11 years her senior, after snaps were shared all over social media.
Some of Billie's followers are unsure about the age difference between the two.
"When I said I wanted a Billie and Jesse collab...this is NOT what I had in mind,” one person Tweeted. Another said: "When he was her age, she was nine."
A third fan claimed: "What could a 31-year-old man have in common with a 20-year-old girl?? The age gap weirds me out."
Another Tweeted: "Why can’t men date someone their own age." While a fifth questioned: "So we can assume that there isn’t a single woman in her 30s on the planet, right? that’s why he needed to go for someone 11 years younger?"
Coming for Billie and Jesse's defence, one follower says she didn't know what all the fuss was about.
They said: "I don’t understand why everyone is so upset. I am 23 and I have dated men who are in their early 30’s.
"It is a preference. I find that I rather deal with mature men. A lot of people do. Because she is famous it is suddenly an issue that everyone has a problem with?"
One person replied: "You'll get it when you'll be 30. It's always the same problem, young people think they're mature enough, that the relationship is balanced, that age doesn't matter.
"Then they grow up and notice the huge gap between someone who is just 20 and someone over 30."
Others have weighed in on age gaps they feel acceptable, one Tweeted: "Where do u guys draw the line for it being “ok” to date someone older?
"I say like 21 tbh but I’ve heard others say 25 which is a bit of a stretch imo."
Both Billie and Jesse are yet to publicly address the romance rumours.
Some have pointed out that the musicians had been friends with each other for years.
In fact, a Jesse fan account shared a picture back in 2017 which showed the pair posing playfully at a costume party.
