The brilliance of Nikola Jokić has firmly been on display throughout this year’s NBA playoffs. With the NBA Finals tipping off and the Nuggets in pursuit of their first title, the two-time MVP will be charged with putting together another round of spectacular performances that will surely generate plenty of conversation about his game.
While many consider Jokić’s style of play as one that is truly unorthodox, some—like NBA legend Bill Walton—believe the Joker’s skillset is like one of nature’s most essential elements.
During a Thursday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Walton raved about Jokić’s ability to take control and maintain the flow of the game, even comparing his scoring to those like Jack Sikma, Dirk Nowitzki and Patrick Ewing.
However, what was more fascinating to Walton was Jokić’s “timely and accurate” passing capability as the engineer of the Denver’s team approach, comparing it to the way the Arkansas River rolls of the eastern portion of the Continental Divide.

That’s probably not the comparison most had on their bingo card for the 28-year-old Nuggets star. But, in a very unusual way, Walton—a two-time NBA champion himself—made the description feel natural.
