Bill Murray's latest movie halted after complaint of 'inappropriate behaviour'

Bill Murray is under investigation after a complaint of “inappropriate behaviour” halted his latest movie.

Searchlight Pictures told cast and crew on Wednesday it had paused filming of Being Mortal.

The Disney-owned studio’s letter said: “Last week we were made aware of a complaint. It has been decided that production cannot continue at this time.”

It gave no details the complaint or who it was against, but numerous sources on set named Murray, 71.

The Ghostbusters legend started out on Saturday Night Live in 1977 before hitting the Hollywood heights.

Co-stars have claimed his behaviour can be challenging.

Caddyshack and Ghostbusters actor Dan Aykroyd dubbed him “Murricane”, while Charlie’s Angels’ Lucy Liu said he “hurled insults” at her.

Murray once said: “A friend said to me, ‘You have a reputation of being difficult to work with’. I only got that reputation from people I didn’t like working with, or who didn’t know how to work.”

Disney said: “We can confirm that production was suspended. We do not comment on investigations.”

Murray did not respond to requests to comment.
