Bill Belichick gets verbal ‘peace treaty’ from Patriots’ rival QB

Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning have had several memorable battles over the years.

Most notably, Manning ruined Belichick’s shot at a perfect season with the 2007 Patriots, as the quarterback defeated him at Super Bowl XLII. He also defeated Belichick’s Patriots again in a rematch at Super Bowl XLVI.

So Belichick jokingly offered a peace treaty when appearing on “Manningcast.”

Peyton Manning asked Belichick if he wanted to throw some shots back at Eli, but Belichick knew better than to try and one-up the former Giants star.

“No, not at all, I’m not making fun of Eli. I’m not throwing any stones at him cause he’ll toss some boulders back at me. Eli, can we have a peace treaty?” Belichick joked.

Eli ultimately agreed to the treaty.

“Peace coach. We got total peace. I’ve got all of the respect for you right there coach. I’m not saying anything,” said Eli.

As for Belichick, Patriots and NFL fans alike are seeing a side of him they didn’t see during his coaching days. From heated rivals to peace treaties, it’s safe to say that Belichick and the Manning brothers have come full circle.
