Bill Belichick doubles down on starting QB situation in New England

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichickisn’t leaving anything up to speculation regarding the quarterback situation heading into Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

When speaking with the media on Wednesday, Belichick doubled down on Mac Jones remaining the starter for the team, despite three ugly offensive performances in a row.

The Patriots have only scored one touchdown in the last three games, and Jones has thrown five interceptions and lost one fumble. Three of those turnovers ended up going for defensive touchdowns.

“Yeah, we’re not making any changes,” Belichick said, when asked if he expects Jones to start on Sunday against the Raiders.

The Patriots are currently sitting at 1-4 on the season and dead last in the AFC East division.

Their defense has been compromised with injuries, and the offense has looked just as bad, if not worse, than it was last season. It will take a herculean effort for Jones and company to turn things around, even against a struggling Raiders team.
