The New England Patriots will be honoring former quarterback Tom Brady in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Coach Bill Belichick spoke about the organization honoring Brady, when the former signal-caller makes his return to Foxboro on Sept. 10.
Brady and Belichick were part of one of the greatest dynasties in modern pro sports. New England won 16 division titles during Brady’s tenure and also hoisted the Lombardi Trophy six times.
Brady went on to have success with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2020-2022. Nevertheless, there’s no denying that his biggest impact was made in New England.
Belichick opened up about honoring Brady, as transcribed by NESN.com’s Doug Kyed.
“He’s done an awful lot for this organization, for this franchise, for this city, the National Football League,” said Belichick. “One night’s really not enough, anywhere close to being enough for the appreciation for what Tom deserves. It was a great opportunity for me. I feel very fortunate to have coached Tom, Lawrence Taylor, Matt Slater. That’s the three top players at their position: offense, defense, special teams. That I think in the history of the game, and that’s pretty—I feel pretty lucky as a coach.”

The head coach is right.
One night is not nearly enough to celebrate everything Brady has accomplished, but it will be a solid way to remember and honor the best quarterback in NFL history.
