Bikies charged over WA drive-by shooting

There has been a string of recent violent crimes in Perth linked to outlaw motorcycle gangs. (AAP)

Two bikies have been charged over a drive-by shooting at a Perth home where a pregnant woman and her five-year-old daughter were staying.

Shots were fired at the Port Kennedy home of a Mongols bikie last week, the latest in a string of recent incidents linked to outlaw motorcycle gangs.

Nobody was injured.

Police say a 45-year-old senior Rock Machine bikie will face Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday after a brief pursuit led to his arrest in Perth's southern suburbs.

He is facing a raft of charges including committing an unlawful act or omission with intent to harm, criminal damage and possessing a firearm or ammunition without a licence.

He was also charged with possessing 24 grams of methamphetamine and $2000 cash which police alleged was stolen or unlawfully obtained.

A second man, aged 36 and from Morley, was charged earlier in the week over the same incident.

Detectives have meanwhile charged a 38-year-old bikie associate with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

"The man is currently before the courts on sexual assault charges and it is alleged he attempted to interfere with witnesses in the upcoming trial," WA Police said.

He is due to face Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Detectives from Taskforce Ravello say the Port Kennedy shooting is not related to the killing of senior Rebels bikie Nick Martin at Perth Motorplex last year.

Police have charged a 34-year-old man with murder after Martin was gunned down while attending a drag racing event with his wife and other associates.

Martin's son-in-law Ricky Chapman, a former Bandidos member, was also wounded in the attack and a five-year-old boy was grazed by a bullet fragment.

The accused man, whose identity is suppressed, has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of unlawful act or omission with intent to harm.

He briefly faced court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody until his next court date in April.

Police say the murder investigation remains open and detectives will probe whether the accused was connected to other parties.

Tensions have been running high since the killing, with detectives launching multiple raids on properties associated with outlaw motorcycle gangs.

More than 100 people have faced charges, 136 search warrants have been executed and 55 guns seized since Taskforce Ravello was formed in December.

The Ascot home of senior Hells Angels bikie Dayne Brajkovich was also targeted in a drive-by shooting earlier this month.
