Young Craigneuk bikers were back on track last week thanks to some National Lottery funding.
Community group Socialtrack organised a free event at Wishawhill Wood pump track with the funding helping them to offer free BMX, skateboard and scooter hire for all.
Hot chocolate and rolls were also served up free of charge after Socialtrack received a grant from the The National Lottery Community Fund.
Motherwell South East and Ravenscraig councillor, Agnes Magowan, got on her bike to see what all the fuss was about.
She told Lanarkshire Live : “Young people have had a hard time with the pandemic in the last two years.
“It was wonderful to see around 20 youngsters and adults cycling round the track and socialising with their friends.
“I really felt being there that the country is recovering and getting back to normal.”
The track was also visited by Graham Simpson MSP and the Paths For All team as they learnt a little more about Socialtrack’s various grassroots projects.
Central Wishaw councillor Fiona Fotheringham was also delighted to see activities at the track restarting.
She added: “I can’t keep my son Ben away from this place. It’s an amazing facility.
“It was great to see the first session back on the pump track and the sun shone for us too. The energy from everyone was fabulous.
“Kids, parents and volunteers alike, everyone was buzzing to be there.
"As always Socialtrack were there providing equipment and coaches to provide opportunities to local youngsters.
“Thanks also to Made4uinML2 for their continued support to such a worthy project.
"We are looking forward to a busy year ahead encouraging local communities to get more active.”
As part of the green space projects in North Lanarkshire new cycle facilities including a pump track, a balance bike area, a jump line, a trial bikes area and mountain bike skills loops is at the draft design stage at the Bellshill end of Strathclyde Park.
This project will link Bellshill to the loch side area of Strathclyde Country Park through upgraded routes for walking and cycling.
