Biker leaves furious note offering £100 reward to find 'b*****d' driver after crash

An irate motorcyclist who was left "bruised" after an accident with a car has left a furious note at the scene blasting the driver as he seeks to find them.

The rider, who only gave his name as "bruised Lee" along with a telephone number has offered a £100 cash reward for anyone who is able to identify the car following the accident on Croft Road in Nuneaton.

He blasted the driver of the car with a message that included an expletive and left it on the road side by where the incident happened.

The note was attached to white boards that have been tied to a lamppost on Croft Road.

It offers the £100 reward for the correct identification of the Silver Nissan Note which was involved in the accident.

The motorcyclist alleges that the driver left the scene and gave no details.

The message reads: "Motorbike accident. Friday 19 May 11.30. PLEASE HELP. Driver damaged Silver Nissan Note. Left scene, no details. B*stard. Reg Number????."

It signs off 'bruised Lee' with the mobile number to call. The note is on a lamp post opposite the junction with Northumberland Avenue, reported CoventryLive.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police confirmed that they received a report about a road traffic collision at 11.52am on Friday, May 19. It was between a car and a motorbike.

An ambulance is believed to have been despatched to the scene but then later told it was not needed.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist has been telling how he has learnt to walk again and become a personal trainer after suffering a horrific bike accident.

Mike Newman, 30, was left paralysed after being thrown off his bike during motocross practice in 2019, leaving him with his L3 vertebrae shattered, a punctured lung, and a fractured tailbone and pelvis.

The personal trainer, from Hayling Island, Hampshire, was rushed to hospital in a helicopter, and then he spent almost six months in hospital trying to recover from his injuries. Doctors told him he may never walk again.

But after being in recovery for four years, Mike has broken down multiple physical barriers, and is now able to walk short distances. He's even gained his personal trainer license, and he's now the 'fittest he's ever been'.

Speaking about his accident, Mike said: "I was on a motocross track when my bike hit a rock and the accelerator just pinged.

"I got thrown off, and I landed on my back when I just felt it explode beneath me. I tried to get up, but I couldn't move. I got airlifted to hospital, and had metal rods inserted into my back to help with the break.

"Because my nerves were all messed up, I couldn't feel my legs at all, and it really affected my bowels, so I had to use a catheter for quite some time.

"My legs ended up just withering away to skin and bone, I couldn't feel them at all, and when the feeling came back, they were incredibly weak, almost lifeless."

But talking of the progress he has now made in his recovery he said: "I think having my mum, friends and (his partner) Emma-Jane be there for me throughout all of this, has made what would have been a very isolated period in my life, turn out to be one of my most progressive and challenging times where I have come out ten times better on the other side.

"I may never be back to 100%, and still need my wheelchair when I over-exert myself, but I've come so far and I'm so proud."
