Biker dies after horror crash with tractor in South Ayrshire

A motorcyclist has died following a horror crash on a road in South Ayrshire.

The tragic incident took place shortly after 7.30am on Monday, July 11 on the B741 at Hamilton Bridge, Dailly.

A black Suzuki SV 650 motorbike and a yellow JCB 4220 tractor were involved in the smash.

Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, sped to the scene.

Sadly, the 30-year-old male driver of the Suzuki motorbike was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

The road was closed for around six hours while officers launched an investigation into the collision.

It re-opened around 1.30pm.

Cops are now urging anyone with any information on the crash to get in touch.

Sergeant Kenneth Malaney, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this very difficult time.

“I would ask anyone who saw the vehicles immediately prior to the crash to come forward.

"I would also ask anyone who with dash-cam footage who was in the area around the time of the crash to check their footage and provide anything relevant to us as soon as possible.

“Those with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0649 of 11 July.”
