Three Bhagalpur students share top position in Bihar in ISC exam

PATNA: Shivangi Rani, Aastik Das and Priyanshi Ghosh from Bhagalpur emerged the joint state toppers with 99% in the Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class XII examination conducted by the the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). The results were declared on Sunday. The three scored 396 out of 400 marks. Shivangi and Aastik are from St Joseph’s School while Priyanshi is from Mount ASSISI School.

Sanskriti Khandelwal of St Joseph’s Convent High School, Patna, Piyush Dokania of St Joseph’s School, Bhagalpur and Krishna Dhandhania of Carmel High School, Patna shared the second position with 98.75%. Tamanna Agarwal of Carmel High School secured the third rank in the state with 98.25%.

Girls outperformed boys as their pass percentage was 99.87%, compared to boys’ 99.54%. The overall pass percentage of Bihar is 99.75%, up by 1.29%, compared to 98.46% in 2020. In 2021, the exams were cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic. But none from Bihar is among the top three in the country. Total 1,190 students appeared in the exam, including 759 girls. Of them, 1,187 students cleared the exam with flying colours while three flunked, including a girl.

In the special category, 53 Scheduled Caste candidates wrote the examination and achieved 100% pass percentage. Of the 31 Scheduled Tribe candidates, 96.77% passed while the pass percentage among the 429 OBC candidates was 99.77%.

St Joseph's Convent High School scores 100% result

There are total 15 ISC-affilliated schools in Bihar.

Meanwhile, all the 157 students from St Joseph's Convent High School, Patna, passed with good marks. Of them, 54% scored above 90% while 59 got between 80 and 89%. One student passed in second division. Sanskriti of arts stream got 395 marks out of 400. Manya Agarwal topped in commerce with 97.75% and Shreya Shree scored 95% in the science stream.

Tamanna and Krishna of Carmel High School topped in arts and commerce stream, respectively, while Fatima Akhar got 96.75% in science stream. Jesus and Mary Academy also achieved 100% results. Arushi Singh scored 90% and Sweety Kumari 86%.

At Don Bosco Academy, Aditya Sarthak scored 97.25% in the science stream and Yash Vardhan Singh of commerce stream got 95.25%.
