Bihar: IAF makes emergency landing in flood, relief materials looted

Patna: An Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter carrying relief materials made an emergency landing in water-logged area in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district on Wednesday. 

Fortunately, no loss of life or injury reported in the mishap, according to the Indian Air Force. 

"An ALH helicopter of the IAF, which was engaged in flood relief operations in the Sitamarhi sector in Bihar, executed a precautionary landing in inundated area due to a technical issue.

All crew are reported to be safe, with no damage to civilian life or property reported," IAF posted on X (formerly known as Twitter). 

Probe ordered
IAF has also ordered an inquiry for ascertaining the cause of the incident. 

Following the incident, villagers rushed to loot relief materials. In a video, which has gone viral now, locals can be seen loading relief material onto their boats.

Home Ministry released
The Home Ministry has released Rs 5,858.60 crore for flood-affected Bihar and districts in other states to provide relief to the areas.
