JDU leader Raju Nayyar, who resigned earlier, said that, "I resign from JDU after the Waqf Amendment Bill was passed and supported in the Lok Sabha...I am deeply hurt by JDU voting in favor of this black law that oppresses Muslims....I resign from the post of former state secretary of JDU youth and primary membership of the party. I send a letter to Hon'ble CM Nitish Kumar requesting him to relieve me of all responsibilities."

In the mean time, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) had appealed to all secular political parties, including BJP allies and MPs, to oppose the Waqf Amendment Bill.
