Biggs Chris and girlfriend on baby joy – Love Island pals' reactions to swanky gender reveal plans

Love Island star Biggs Chris and his girlfriend are clearly excited to be venturing into the journey of parenthood, as they shared a sweet reveal with their Instagram followers late last month.

"We’ve been keeping our little Blessing a secret," the couple gushed in the caption as they shared a sweet montage video of their journey so far to reveal the news to fans.

The happy couple have been together for around two and a half years and, while their bundle of joy wasn't planned, the couple are incredibly excited to become parents.

In an exclusive chat with the Mirror loved-up couple Biggs, 31, and Summer revealed all about Summer's pregnancy so far – including how their Love Island pals reacted when they told them the news...

When asked how they're feeling about the news, a playful Chris jokes: "I'm a bit sad to be honest," before he and Summer burst giggle.

"No I'm joking, I'm really happy happy, I'm excited. I'm really happy I can't lie," he says, with the smile on his face audible.

"We're over the moon," Summer adds. "We were a little bit shocked but we are really over the moon – absolutely buzzing."

Biggs adds: "A lot of people have asked me if I'm scared but I've got no doubts in my head."

Although Biggs did reveal he thought his girlfriend was playing a prank when he was given a box with a number of positive pregnancy tests inside.

Looking back on the moment, the series six Love Island star says: "When I opened the box and I see [it] I was just in shock. I was just speechless, but I was happy.

"But I'll be honest I thought it was a prank at first, I thought, 'Maybe she's pranking me!'"

The couple broke the news to their Love Island pals as Biggs revealed Lucie Donlan "cried" while Wes Nelson promised to spoil their tot.

Biggs says: "We promised to buy the baby lots of clothes," followed by a cheeky giggle.

Meanwhile, a number of Islanders including Shaq Muhammad and Toby Aromolaran sent the couple sweet messages.

Eve Gale reached out to share her happiness that Biggs and Summer are set to become parents as the Islander has "always been supportive" of their romance.

Biggs' ex-girlfriend Rebecca Gormley, who he began dating after meeting in the Love Island villa before their split in 2021, has also wished the couple well.

He reveals: "Rebecca's been in contact, but she contacted my mum not me."

The former Islander says Rebecca messaged his mum to say congratulations, "which was nice".

Now the pair have shared the news, they're looking forward to throwing a gender reveal bash to find out if they're having a boy or girl.

The swanky do is taking place in a lavish in Scotland with "quite a few known faces" on the guestlist.

And Biggs cheekily says he hopes Wes, 25, would perform at the bash.

"I've got a few known faces that are flying to Scotland to come and party with us," Biggs says.

The couple have already had the scan to determine the gender of their baby, but are patiently waiting until their party in August to find out if they're having a boy or a girl.

Summer says: "I don't think we planned it through because the venue we're having it is normally held for weddings and stuff so it's quite a big venue – obviously they're booked up so we've had to grab the day that's available without thinking, 'Oh that's two-three months after we've actually got the scan'. "

Only one person in their family knows the sex of the unborn tot – Biggs' mum, Sandra Chris, is tasked with keeping the surprise a secret until the special day.

"So Biggs' poor mum literally, we can't even go and see her because she's just bursting at the seams to tell us," Summer reveals.

And Biggs adds: "I found out yesterday my dad offered my mum money to find out! But didn't tell him."

Summer jokes: "She says she'll tell for a Gucci bag," as the pair laugh.

Meanwhile, the former Islander also plans to have a night out with his friends to hand over his "little black book".

Summer reveals: "The other day he said he needs to have one last night out because he needs to hang up the jacket, but he needs to bless the jacket and hand it over to the boys and be like, 'Right guys, I'm out the game' and I was like, 'You are not going out to do that!'"

Biggs replies: "It's happening next week, you think I'm joking as well! All my contacts – I've got a diary so I need to pass it on."

While the pair have so much to look forward to, they've also been enjoying a string of wonderful moments throughout the pregnancy – including hearing their baby's heartbeat for the first time.

Summer reveals: "Hearing the heartbeat and seeing the first little wiggle – the baby is always really active at every scan – they wave, they kick.

"I felt my first movement yesterday, that was really. So there's been some really little beautiful bits."

She adds of experiencing those moments: "It's as romantic and as beautiful as you see in the movies..."

"If not better," Biggs gushes as Summer adds of the scans: "Everyone's like, 'romanticise your life' but it is like that in in real life when you're laying on that bed and you see and you hear it and the room goes silent. I would do that everyday if I could!"
