If the first week is foreshadowing the rest of the year, then the Big Ten is going to be one the best league in all of college football.
The new 18-team Big Ten debuted for the first time this past weekend, and all but one team came out on top with a win. The lone Big Ten team that lost was Minnesota — who missed a game-winning field goal as time expired against North Carolina.
Two of the more notable wins for the league were from Penn State and USC. The Nittany Lions went on the road and beat West Virginia, while the Trojans beat No. 13 LSU in a neutral site game in Las Vegas.
Michigan State was one of the 17 teams that won its opener. The Spartans picked up a narrow victory over FAU in its opener on Friday night.
