2025 WyWhoosh Big Ride Challenge monthly goals

Big Ride Challenge ride image.

On the first day of each month we set our MyWhoosh Big Ride Challenge riders two extra challenges to take on. These vary every month, depending on the seasons and where a typical riders's fitness is at that time of year.

They're easy to complete if you ride regularly, and most of them can be done on indoor trainers as well as out on the road. Some challenges will focus on distance, or altitude gained, others on searching out new places to ride. They're designed to be a bit of fun, and keep everyone motivated through the year, no matter what annual total they're aiming for.

All previous monthly challenges will be listed at the bottom of this page.

JANUARY CHALLENGES

CW Mini
The challenge for those aiming to ride 500 miles in 2024

1. Be active for five consecutive days

2. Complete a 10 mile ride

Regular exercise is all about the forming of habits. To do this consistency is key, which means getting into the routine of exercising each day. This is the aim of your first challenge this month. Challenge number two is about getting on your bike and logging a few miles. This can be done indoor or out.

CW Midi
Riders taking on this challenge are aiming to ride 1,000 miles in the year

1. Log a 40 mile week

2. Find and ride a new road

Exploring new roads is one of the joys of cycling, and you don't always have to travel far and wide to discover a new road to ride. Simply turn down a road you've never ridden before and, hey presto, cycling Nirvana! Or maybe just a new route home.

CW Maxi
Signing up to this challenge means you're aiming for 2,500 miles in 2025

1. Complete 750 minutes of riding

2. Find and ride a new road

Most of us log our rides by miles or hours, so this month we want you to try something different. How many minutes will you ride, and will you just divide it by 60 and count it in hours anyway?

CW5000
The original, and still the most popular challenge. Everyone signing up is aiming to hit 5,000 miles by the end of the year

1. Complete 1,000 minutes of riding

2. Find and ride a new road

1,000 minutes is...... a lot of hours. Once you've ticked this off, why not work out your average speed in miles a minute? Although thinking about it, that will seem very slow. You've got all month to do it, and anyone posting exactly 1,000 minutes of riding in February will get bonus points.
