A number of Manchester United fans have lost patience with Cristiano Ronaldo after the 37-year-old left Old Trafford during the club’s friendly with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday before full-time.
On Wednesday, Erik ten Hag condemned the behaviour, also pointing out that it wasn’t just Ronaldo who had left early. "It's unacceptable, for everybody,” he said. "I tell them. That it is unacceptable and that we are a team, so a selection.”
Ronaldo had missed United’s pre-season tour due to family reasons amid his transfer request. He returned to action on Sunday, playing 45 minutes before being taken off at half-time.

Ronaldo decided to leave the stadium before the final whistle, taking photographs with fans and signing autographs outside Old Trafford. Diogo Dalot was also pictured leaving early.
Reacting to Ten Hag’s comments on Twitter, many United fans called for the manager grant the attacker his exit wish. The Dutchman has so far been keen to keep hold of Ronaldo, but some supporters are willing to see the striker leave:
