Big Leeds United post season survey after dramatic relegation battle

Leeds United completed a dramatic final day relegation escape act to secure their place in next season's Premier League. It looked so gloomy for the West Yorkshire side in February, when legendary manager Marcelo Bielsa was sacked before Jesse Marsch replaced him with a lot of work to do.

The Whites were coming off the back of a number of horrific performances, defensively especially, and needed to tighten things up to to give them a chance of survival. After a few up and down results, Leeds would go into the final day needing to better Burnley's result.

The Lancashire side would be down 2-1 heading into the final minutes, whilst Leeds were also drawing, meaning a goal at either game could have sent Leeds down. But Jack Harrison stepped up in the 94th minute and found the back of the net - sending Leeds fans into a frenzy.

But whilst it ended on a positive note, with fans now excited to see what Marsch will do heading into next season, this past season was undeniably disappointing. Bielsa will forever be remembered fondly in Leeds, but his sacking will have disappointed thousands of fans - especially after their impressive first season in the Premier League.
