Storm Éowyn’s strong wind and rain are making it difficult for planes to land smoothly at Heathrow Airport on Friday.
Several planes fighting the severe gusts early Friday were captured on camera by Big Jet TV.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind in London and rare red weather warnings for Scotland and Northern Ireland, meaning there is a danger to life.
As Storm Éowyn batters the UK, millions of people are being urged to stay at home.
Roads have been closed, flights have been delayed or cancelled and ferry services have been suspended throughout the UK.
Storm Éowyn’s high winds led to challenging conditions at Heathrow and Big Jet TV is back again in action.
On Friday morning, he was able to capture the floaty landings of BA 787, BA A321, and the slight wobble of American Airlines 787.
Viewers were also able to get a glimpse of BA A320neo’s hard landing BA 787 use de-ice on its wings.
Jerry Dyer, an aviation enthusiast, has been broadcasting on his Big Jet TV channel as planes attempt to land outside the London airport in gusts of up to 114 mph.
Mr Dyer usually runs the live stream from the roof of a specially adapted van.
He grew up close to Heathrow and fell in love with airplanes at a young age, he said in an interview from 2020.
When his nephew informed him that Bruce Dickinson, the lead singer of Iron Maiden, was piloting his plane into London in 2015, Mr Dyer hurried to the airport and used Twitter (now X) to broadcast the plane's landing.
He continued to publish similar content because of the interest and encouraging comments and, after a while, he moved to YouTube, where his following really took off, and he has been broadcasting ever since.
According to flightaware.com, London Heathrow is facing 69 cancellations and 67 delays on Friday, at the time of going to press. This is subject to change throughout the day.
Before committing to a trip, you can check your reservations and flight status on the websites of the travel agency, the airline, and flight-tracking apps or websites.
