A popular city centre restaurant will close for two days due to the heatwave.
Maray announced it will close its Bold Street restaurant on Monday and Tuesday due to the expected 'extreme temperatures. ' The owners said they wanted to 'prioritise the wellbeing of the team.'
The city is expecting temperatures above 30C over the next two days. Authorities have warned the public to take steps to protect themselves from the heat.

Now the owners of Maray have announced their Bold Street restaurant is set to close on Monday and Tuesday.
In a statement share on social media they said: "Wow, it's hot, very hot. With potentially record - breaking temperatures set to hit the UK over the next two days we have made the decision to close Bold Street on Monday the 18th and Tuesday 19th July.
"The reason for shutting this site is that due to the setup and size of the kitchen, it gets very hot in the summer. So with these impending extreme temperatures we believe it's the safest course of action and want to prioritise the wellbeing of the team.
"Our other restaurants have either open kitchens or stronger air inflow systems meaning they are much cooler, and will remain open.
"If you have a booking at Bold Street you will have been contacted by our team to offer you an alternative, and of course we do apologise if this causes any inconvenience. Stay safe, keep hydrated, eat ice cream."
The government has issued a set of guidelines for people to keep safe in the sun, as temperatures are set to soar. It comes as the UK Health Security Agency sent out a level four health warning, which is reached "when a heatwave is so severe and prolonged that its effects extend outside the health and social care system."
Margaret Jones, Sefton Council’s Director of Public Health, has warned people about the dangers of the sun as crowds are expected to head for beaches in the area.
