Big Brother winner Anthony Hutton unrecognisable 17 years after scandalous hot tub scene

It has been 17 years since baby-faced Geordie Anthony Hutton won Big Brother and was catapulted into the spotlight.

But despite releasing his own 70s-themed workout DVD and appearing in magazine shoots and all over your TV screens in the months after the show, many fans wouldn’t be able to recognise him now.

Anthony was only 23 when he scooped the £50,000 jackpot prize after winning over the nation with his charming personality.

The then trainee barber, however, could also be best remembered for when he got steamy in the Big Brother hot tub with fellow contestant Makosi Musambasi, leaving her thinking she could be pregnant.

Anthony, now 40, looked completely different when he appeared on ITV’s This Morning to discuss the iconic reality show's upcoming reboot.

On the show, he had a thick beard and perfectly-styled hair and stated he was “over the moon” that the show was returning.

“It’s such a nostalgic show, do you know what I mean,” he told This Morning viewers. “I want them to make it diverse like characters, I’m over the moon it’s coming back.”

Anthony is a proud dad to little baby boy Cruz and is married to his wife Sophie. He shares pictures of Sophie and Cruz who he dubbed his “King and Queen” on his Instagram page.

Before he entered the iconic house back in 2005, Anthony was a trainee barber living with his parents at their County Durham home. But fast-forward and he's put those same skills to use.

In 2016, he opened his own business, Mr Hutton's Barbers and Bar, where he tutors trainee barbers and customers can get themselves a cocktail too.

Speaking about his vision for the new business, he said: "I’ve had the idea for ages and it was one of those things that was put on a pedestal, but I was always hell-bent on doing it. I started doing research about it and couldn’t find anything like it – though Carlsberg had an advert saying, ‘if we did barber shops’, and that’s the kind of concept I’ve gone for.

“I’ve been in Darlington for the last three years with my partner, Sophie, and we have a lot of friends and support in the area. When we saw the spot had become available, we just had to have it."

Anthony has also previously lifted the lid on how the show completely changed his life. He told Chronicle Live : "When I first came off the show, my life completely changed, it was just turned upside down. I went into the Big Brother house a lad from County Durham who lived at home and came out with people in the street knowing my name.

"The day I got off the show I was being contacted by agents and a couple of days later I was paid £200,000 to do a photo shoot with OK magazine. From day one it was just crazy."

Big Brother is preparing for a huge comeback on ITV2 in 2023, with a spokesperson for ITV confirming live evictions will be back as well as “clever tasks and nail-biting nominations.”
