Big Brother 'set for spring' launch on ITV2

A 20th series of Big Brother is set to launch on ITV2 next spring, according to TV sources. The civilian edition of the reality TV series was confirmed to be returning earlier this year by ITV during the advert break of Love Island's live final, and now sources say that it will hit the screen possibly in March next year.

ITV bosses revealed that the TV show would air on ITV2 after they picked up the programme that was initially aired on Channel 4 and then by Channel 5 until it was axed in 2018. But four years later, the show is set to make a return with The Star saying that rumours indicate the launch could be as early as spring 2023.

According to the sources, the show will launch in March 2023 both on ITV2 and ITVX - the channel's new free streaming service. It is not yet known who will host the new series, with fans calling for both Emma Willis and Davina McCall to return to the hot seat once more. Rylan Clark has also been tipped to be involved in the launch of the new series after he presented the spin-off series Big Brother's Bit On The Side when the series aired on Channel 5.

The housemates will have a new house in a secret UK location. It is likely that Big Brother will not air during the winter or summer months in order to avoid viewers clashing with the return of Love Island.
