Lauren, 45, was last seen lying in a hospital bed with bandages wrapped around her head.

The TV personality's family said she had taken a turn for the worse after falling ill with a sudden illness.

Sharing the news on social media, they wrote: "Last night Lauren had a seizure and doctors have had to put her into an induced coma to get it under control."

After asking fans to pray, Lauren's loved ones have now shared the first picture of her since June 6.

"Thank you to everyone who is staying positive and praying for her. She loves you all."

The post received a lot of support from fans, with one follower writing: "Keep going Lauren. Good to see you up and looking glam"

Lauren was first admitted to hospital for surgery on April 14. While the cause is still unknown, Lauren said she had nearly died as a result of her illness.

"Nearly dying makes you appreciate every moment. So enjoy the sunshine and know that I love you. Light, love and peace," she told fans.

On behalf of Lauren she posted: "Please help. Lauren has had a number of blackouts after which the right side of her face drops.

"This is incredibly scary for Lauren and for us. She also has a consistent headache. Drs haven't been able to explain what is causing these."

Lauren found fame as a child antiques expert called James, who appeared on the Antiques Roadshow and Wogan, before undergoing gender reassignment surgery in 2001.

After a gap from the spotlight she re-emerged as Lauren to star on Channel 5 series Trust Me – I’m A Beauty Therapist and then, in 2013, starred on Celebrity Big Brother on the same channel. She finished third in the competition, with Geordie Shore's Charlotte Crosby winning the series.
